The streets of Mossman were filled with colour and culture on Monday 28 July as the Douglas Shire celebrated NAIDOC Week 2025 with a lively street parade and community event at George Davis Park.
This year’s theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, while also marking 50 years of NAIDOC Week.
The parade began on Foxton Avenue and made its way down Front Street, featuring traditional art, colourful outfits, and decorated floats that delighted the crowd.
After the parade, families gathered at Bubu Kinkari (George Davis Park) for NAIDOC in the Park, enjoying market stalls, live music, activities, and a free BBQ.
It was a joyful and well-attended day that celebrated culture, community, and connection across generations.
