A 43-year-old Julatten man has been arrested after a 48-year-old Kuranda man was assaulted, locked inside his own home and had his house window broken.

Police were called to the Kuranda home at about 9.45pm yesterday, where they found a man with a head injury and another man in the yard.

Police said the Julatten man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage, deprivation of liberty and obstructing police.

He was taken to Mareeba watchhouse, where bail was refused and he was expected to appear in court today (Wednesday, July 16).
