Heavy overnight rain in the Mossman region has caused the closure of Anich’s Bridge on the way to Silky Oaks Lodge, while Mossman Golf course is also closed this morning to allow for flash flooding to dry up.

Light rain persists across the district, with more than 100mm recorded in some regions in the past 48 hours.

Power has also been out at Bonnie Doon, Cassowary, Killaloe, Mossman, Shannonvale and South Mossman from about 3am, affecting close to 60 homes.

“The loss of supply is due to damage requiring emergency repairs,” according to Ergon Energy.

“Fault finding is in progress.”
